Last Enfield, The (SA80- The Reluctant Rifle)

SA80 'Small Arms for the 1980s'. Dogged with problems and three years late, the still unperfected SA80 system was adopted in 1985. The last weapon system to be developed and produced at RSAF Enfield, closed and turned into a housing estate in 1988. Having been in service for nearly a quarter century, a large variety of accessories and ancillaries have been developed around the SA80 weapon system, these and all designs are discussed in detail.
